Consensus Comparison: Fantastic Four, Diary of a Teenage Girl August 8, 2015

A lot of Sundance movies this week: The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Shaun the Sheep, Cop Car and Call Me Lucky all had their world premieres there this year.

I wanted to quickly mention that Ant-Man has scored unusually high for a superhero movie. I won’t bother listing all the superhero movies CRU has covered in the last two years. I’ll limit this list to the top five.

Ant-Man (79 • 12 reviews)
Iron Man 3 (71 • 17 reviews)
Big Hero 6 (69 • 8 reviews)
The Avengers (65 • 18 reviews)
Guardians of the Galaxy (65 • 13 reviews)

Most of he rest range from 61 to 48 (except for Marvel’s biggest critical flop in recent memory, Fantastic Four, which you can find below). I present this list because I felt it should be pointed out that Ant-Man has scored admirably, better than any movie based on a Marvel comic in the past two to three years.
