Consensus Comparison: Horse Money, Do the Right Thing August 24, 2014

Consensus Comparison on Sunday. This iteration of the stats column will collect scores from Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and CRU for festival films and old movies newly rounded up here.

I feel like I have to explain the weirdly-sized still image of Horse Money on its CRU page. That still is being used at the request of Pedro Costa via an intermediary. I was told that Mr. Costa felt it was important to maintain Horse Money’s original 1.33 aspect ratio, even on a website like mine that’s only designed to fit still images into very specific dimensions. And who am I to displease Pedro Costa? So that was the still we ended up with.

Some of the repertory screenings may have passed by the time of this blog post, but the CRU page will still be highlighted because discussions of these movies have been revived, which should be taken as an opportunity to consider watching or rewatching these films if they’re available.
