Favorites of 2015 January 17, 2016

Below are two lists of favorites in descending order. The first list is my favorite new films I saw from the beginning of 2015 to today in mid-January. I’ll define new here as movies from the previous five years (2011-2015). The second list is my favorite older films I saw for the first time in 2015. It’s true that there are many major classics I hadn’t seen until last year and many more I’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing.

By now, I’ve caught up with almost all the films I most wanted to see. The three films I most wish I’d caught up with are The Forbidden Room, Son of Saul and Arabian Nights.
