  • The film’s frivolous story, in which Bow’s shop girl falls head over heels for the handsome head of the company before the two are put through all sorts of circuitous misunderstandings en route to a happy ending, moves along effervescently on waves of Bow’s considerable appeal. And while much of the filmmaking is workmanlike, there are crucial moments of visual alacrity, including, at the beginning, an exterior shot of the city that boasts one of cinema’s first telephoto lens zooms.
