Rapado Poster
  • Stands on its own as a nice piece of fugally-structured drollery: affectless young men killing late-night time in public spaces, the movie beginning and ending in the same place, you know the deal... An emotionally controlled take on urban anomie, amused rather than appalled (due to lack of youthful options, it seems). Seem to recall Silvia Prieto and The Magic Gloves being more overtly funny, but Martín Rejtman is still basically my kind of guy.

  • Rapado tells the story of a teenager, Lucio (Ezequiel Cavia), whose motorbike is stolen and who wanders across Buenos Aires in search of it. The plot sounds like an update of Bicycle Thieves, but the camera’s sensuality suggests a contemporary and urban take on Death in Venice.
