Of course there’s the Marx Brothers and touches of Groucho specifically, the Keystone Cops, I even spied a Stooges or a Leo Gorcey with one of my favorite weird lines (“Oh my god, I beat a man insensible with a strawberry!”) and Chaplin’s Modern Times runs throughout, into what many consider his first seamless motion picture.
