  • The weakest of Ferrara's '90s output I've seen (this and THE FUNERAL) are fine achievements held back by their self-contained visions, ably executed works that only really address their own tiny worlds. But then, that's also what makes Ferrara one of the greats, a filmmaker who, even when he makes a "point," is more concerned with the overall textures and interactions of his characters, and of himself to the production.
