  • Though the film’s color makes impressive use of many of its natural landscapes, including the gorgeous mountain ranges of northern India where it was partly shot, it also amplifies, to today’s eyes, some of its more dated touches. In one of Korda’s most transparently patriotic moments, Sabu’s character extols the beauties of his pal’s British uniform, even though its drab pea-green color can’t help but look hideous next to Sabu’s sparkling gold and blue vest and turban.
