  • Often a stellar visual stylist, Bracho explored elaborate interior spaces in the opening shots of “La corte de Faraon” (“The Pharaoh’s Court,” 1944), in which a sinuous camera follows alluring dancers through an Art Deco set. His avant-garde beginnings clearly helped shape this surreal comedy in which characters address the camera and ancient Egyptians use telephones.
